In New York, hotels most certainly aren't just for tourists. They have some of the very best bars and restaurants within them. A few of my absolute favorites are: The Mercer Hotel for cocktail-sipping celebrity watching, The Crosby Street Hotel for inspiring decor, The Jane Hotel for a great dance party (+ Cafe Gitane's avocado toast) and The Ace Hotel for a buzz in the lobby unlike any other (+ a great cup of Stumptown Coffee + cocktails at The Breslin).
